Here is an update:

I attempted compiling a kernel with pcmcia support and leaving all of
the other stuff that Debian has in the kernel and I found that it would
not fit on the rescue floppy.

I hope that Mike still has the windows partition with windows installed
on it so that we could do what David Luyer, mailto:luyer@ucs.uwa.edu.au
did to get Debian loaded on his system.

I'll see you all tonight.

Hi Mike,

I found that the Debian kernel does not have pcmcia support turned on.
Also, the floppy is a propritary pcmcia device that is not recognized by
Linux. I found http://ecg.mit.edu/george/libretto-1.html to be a good
source of info concerning putting a Linux distribution on a Libretto.
Also, we still need a FAT32 partition with windows :-( still on it to
load the files necessary for a basic install. I think we could use the
image files and mount them using the loopback device.

I'm also making a custom kernel with pcmcia support and loopback support
so it will possibly work.
